The second Delta Center Virtual Convening, from June 1 to 2, provided an opportunity for grantees to engage in peer sharing, deepen and strengthen relationships, and hear concrete examples to advance Delta Center goals.
This virtual site visit will showcase collaboration across primary care and behavioral health at state and clinic levels, including an overview of Oklahoma’s state policy landscape, primary care and behavioral health systems; a “facilities tour;" and a joint discussion between National Council, NACHC, Oklahoma State Association Executives and clinic leadership.
The fourth grantee learning session, titled "Health Equity and Consumer Engagement," took place on Wednesday, February 2. Participants heard from Families USA about their health equity work and from fellow grantees about their progress on their grant work.

To assist behavioral health finance and accounting staff in preparing for the transition to value-based payment and care, the Delta Center hosted a series of webinar trainings on Understanding Your Costs in an Evolving Payment Environment. The 4-part webinar series focused on behavioral health examples in the following sessions: 1) Cost Allocation – Getting the Basics Right, 2) Preparing Internal Systems for Gathering Cost Data, 3) Cost Allocation Methodology for Value-Based Payment Systems, and 4) Utilizing Cost Data to Drive Programmatic Change.
Speakers from Oakland Community Health Network, the public community mental health center and public Medicaid specialty health plan for Oakland County, Michigan, share their experience of utilizing an outcomes-based payment model for behavioral health services. OCHN also shares lessons learned for community mental health centers in other states that are pursuing similar types of payment models.
The Delta Center for a Thriving Safety Net held a fifth convening for state primary care associations and behavioral health state associations participating in the State Learning & Action Collaborative. In lieu of our originally scheduled in-person convening, this event was a virtual forum for grantees to share actions and challenges related to changing policy and care in response to COVID-19.
