New Mexico Primary Care Association (NMPCA) & Behavioral Health Providers Association of New Mexico (NMBHPA)
The New Mexico Primary Care Association (NMPCA) represents 19 member organizations that operate 220 primary care, dental, school-based, and behavioral health delivery sites. These organizations provide comprehensive primary care that includes medical, behavioral health, dental and pharmacy. Integration of Behavioral Health is a priority for NMPCA and its members. Value-based payment is an area of interest and NMPCA is involved with some of its members in a Clinically Integrated Network.
Building upon a strong foundation made possible by the 2018 – 2020 Delta Center for a Thriving Safety Net Grant, NMPCA will continue to partner with the New Mexico Behavioral Health Providers Association (NMBHPA), who represents 65 member organizations, to complete the Alumni Grant through tandem work to further advance value-based payment and integration of primary care and behavioral health services. This will be accomplished by completing a white paper policy recommendation to the state of New Mexico regarding the current status of the VBP implementation, barriers and opportunities thus far encountered by provider organizations and MVO’s, and recommendations for continued implementation.
