New York State Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare (NYS Council) & Community Health Care Association of New York State (CHCANYS)
The New York State Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare (NYS Council) and the Community Health Care Association of New York State (CHCANYS) together serve 70 FQHCs and 100 community-based behavioral health organizations.
Telehealth and telephonic visits burst onto the scene amid the COVID-19 pandemic. However, if not considerate of the many factors that may prevent a patient from seeking care remotely, expanded reliance on telehealth could exacerbate existing health disparities. In 2021, the associations will support members and the people they serve by improving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) competency in service delivery, especially among providers engaged in remote care delivery. Members will receive targeted DEI training and collaborative learning opportunities along with policy advocacy developed in response to the “Ensuring Sustained Access to Telehealth in the Post Pandemic Period” joint telehealth white paper to sustain telehealth best practice.
