This case study report provides an in-depth look at the workforce configuration of Cherokee Health Systems, a Federally Qualified Health Center and a Community Mental Health Center with a mission to “improve the quality of life for [their] patients through the blending of primary care, behavioral health and prevention services.”
In 2017, health centers in Washington worked with the Washington Association of Community and Migrant Health Centers (WACMHC) and Washington State Medicaid (Health Care Authority or HCA) to launch a capitated FQHC APM that incorporates quality metrics.
Drawing from our work with 12 primary care associations through the Delta Center, this brief outlines three key policy steps to help health centers survive in the short term and thrive beyond the COVID-19 crisis.
